Pre-light smells like dark bread and molasses. First puffs come out with black pepper and charred oak, aggressive but clean. Once it settles, the core is bitter dark chocolate and espresso over rich earth, with a syrupy sweetness that keeps it from going flat. Midway through there's a meaty, almost savory quality — smoked hardwood, a little black licorice. The final third turns intense and concentrated: heavy pepper on the retrohale, earth, and a long, dry finish that coats the palate. Needs a full stomach. Pairs with aged rum, bourbon, or black coffee.
